The hip-hop trio — who self-produced their entire debut album Every Dream Has a Price — is at it again with the video for their newest single “Something Real.” The Brooklyn-based group is steadily making New York City their playground, and the talented trio’s sights are set on the rap game next.

Watch MCs Concise, K.Words, and Slangston Hughes take over NYC’s J Train in the video for “Something Real.” If only subway lines always road this hard…

We are proud to present to you our debut album titled “Every Dream Has A Price.” This album is the follow up to the prelude project “Money Never Sleeps” that we released last year. It consists of 10 songs, all produced, recorded and mixed by True 2 Life Music. We released it for free download in conjuction with DJBooth.net. It’s a collection of our most ambitious work to date and we hope you enjoy.

Here’s the mission statement / decription of “Every Dream Has A Price“:

“Everybody dreams about the glory. For some it’s the money and the fame. For others it’s a successful career, a home, and a happy family. Either way, nobody is guaranteed anything and a strong sense of entitlement won’t get you where you want to be. It takes a strong sense of purpose, dedication and preparation. So while some people merely think about their dreams, we think about all the blood, sweat and tears it’ll take to reach ours. We picture ourselves on the big stage holding the trophy like everyone else does… but in our minds are the countless hours in the studio, brainstorming, strategizing and willing ourselves to win. We think about the days on the road, the money invested, and the time away from our families and loved ones just to actualize our vision. We think about all the things we sacrificed to get ourselves where we want to be and we understand the sum of THAT is what will equal the greatness we will achieve. That is what this project represents. Our album is entitled EVERY DREAM HAS A PRICE. It is written and produced by us. “MONEY NEVER SLEEPS… A PRELUDE TO EVERY DREAM”

Coming into their own as artists, the Brooklyn rap group, True 2 Life Music returns with their most ambitious project to date. Their EP, “Money Never Sleeps,” looks to provide the soundtrack for the recent years in America including the economic situations that face their listeners and themselves. “These past few years have been hard on a lot of people financially and of course that spills over into other parts of your life. As artists you can’t ignore that, you have to embrace that” as Concise discusses their path and come up as a burgeoning rap group. Produced and recorded exclusively by the group, “Money Never Sleeps” provides the soundtrack for the ambitious, the hustlers and those striving to reach their goals amidst the economic collapse and “everyday struggles.” K.Words adds “The title is a reference to the way that big business has shrunk our world. While you sleep, with or without your knowledge, money is being exchanged on the other side of the world and decisions are being made to influence your life.” Slangston Hughes adds “These aren’t just decisions we rap about, these are experiences we share with our fans. As young black men and as artists, we feel the impact of what has happened across the country. Money never sleeps, and neither do we.”
