What’s Poppin?!
For starters…we have to apologize for the lack of activity on the blog. If you didn’t follow us we are just getting back to NYC from a 2 week hiatus in south Florida (Ft Lauderdale / Miami / Miami Beach). The condo we were stationed at didn’t have wireless internet access so our laptops were desperately out of touch with the net. So bad news is we have alot of catching up to do via net, good news is we got od amounts of dope recording in. We could have the next few projects lined up…we CLOCKED IN. With some stupid fresh new new. so we’ll be releasing some of those records shortly…

We had to cut the beautiful weather and music creation short for our concert tomorrow, Friday, March 27th with Fabolous and Juelz and Mike Jones at Trinity College (and we miss our northeast peoples). We can’t return for the WMC weekend either because of interviews and some press opportunities…but anyways

We’re currently in South Florida right now banging out a few new records and working on some new production. That amongst hanging out of course. But we didn’t have internet access for a couple days. pardon our absence.
True 2 Life recently got some international love (shouts to Sumit) as our record “That’s That” off “Larger Than Life” and music video for “Poppin’ On TV” were both featured on the UK’s award winning hip hop site, The Hip Hop Chronicle.

Though up-and-coming hip-hop trio True 2 Life Music are new to the Booth, readers who’ve seen recently-released biopic Notorious may recognize their faces; Concise played Gutta of Junior M.A.F.I.A., while Slang Hughes and K. Words appeared as Fulton Street hustlers. On a newly-released promotional single, T2L brush off all their detractors, knowing that sooner or later those same critics will see them Poppin’ on TV. All three members come with rhymes hot enough to make the ever-popular lyrical topics of cash, chains, clothes and haters seem fresh again, and the beat, which comes courtesy of Jackie Rob (not one individual, but an emcee/production duo composed of Slang and Concise) adds to the cut’s unique vibe with some unconventional percussion. What’s Good True 2 Lifers?
As may or may not know, we dropped an album honoring the late great Notorious B.I.G titled “Larger Than Life” about 2 months ago. We put together the collection of original music, inspired by Biggie, and dropped it the day before “Notorious” hit theaters, which also complimented our involvement in the movie.

Out of the sessions going into making “Larger Than Life” we churned out some dope music of course, and so much dope music that it most of it didn’t fit in our vision of the first installment. So instead of letting the music go to waste, we decided to drop an expansion pack (which you may have caught a preview of) to “Larger Than Life” today, March 9th, the 12th anniversary of Biggie’s untimely death.
The records on the expansion pack have a more serious and darker feel, entirely produced by us and of course, dope beats and rhymes nonetheless.
You may have seen some other tribute tapes out there, but none, I doubt, are quite like this. Let us know what you think tho. Of course, let this be the expansion, meaning download “Larger Than Life” if you haven’t already. Then get this!
